When I bought this house one of the criteria was that I didn&#8217;t need to do any serious maintenance for at least 2 years. This idea was partially based on suggestions from a couple of friends who said &#8220;&#8230;take some time to decide what works for you and what doesn&#8217;t work for you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Well Last weekend I started on the Pergola.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 632px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Painting the Pergola\" src=\"http:\/\/files.andulain.net\/\/images\/general\/house\/Progress_sml.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"622\" height=\"467\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Painting the Pergola<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;ve also got to complete the staining of the windows on the far side of the house. Last summer I started, but since I wasn&#8217;t sure how it was going to look, I didn&#8217;t buy a large quantity of stain.
