    Captain Hook…

    2010 - 02.17

Furbag’s been trying to squeeze a “sore” paw and “limp” for all it’s worth for a few days now, although seemingly she’s made an “Immaculate Recovery”. Marvellous what the suggestion that a Vet bill in excess of $300 can lead to discontinued existance can do! Seriously though, nothing was broken, bleeding, or bent short of a claw, so she’s fine, and miffed that I didn’t buy into it somewhat more. She did somewhat resemble a certain Pirate, although I’m no Peter Pan. 🙂

    More than a drop…

    2010 - 01.12

Finally a bit of relief from the heat, and potentially relieving the chance of fire! I love rain. I’d live where it rained 12 hours a day and 20 degree temperatures if I could just find somewhere that did that without the humidity. But sadly such is not the case.

    To paraphrase the innocent Maria:

Raindrops and Ho’s, Leather and Kittens,
…these are a few of my favourite things!

Either way I’m happy to be getting some rain, even if it’s spotting the screen of the laptop while I’m sitting out here on the patio tapping away (excuse my OCD).

    No time to be wicked…

    2010 - 01.02

Busy day today, only just now chilling out. Furbag and I did a reconnoitre of the boundaries this morning. Bit of tidying up some more branchs etc blown down by the winds from the rainstorm that also saved our butts the other night. Then off down Geelong to catch Sara since I didn’t get there New Year’s Eve. Then back home to cook up a couple of curries and then do some more staining of the woodwork around doors and windows. Working on the externals at this point, and it’s seems to be coming up excellently, amazing how a little work can make such a difference.

    Love that Rain..

    2010 - 01.01

Well fortunately, with a combination of CFA and weather, the Furbag and I were back home later in the evening, house and nearby area intact. Today is lovely damp weather, reminds me of Tasmania.

    2009 - 12.31

Well due to fires Furbag and I have evacuated to the other side of town while awaiting the champion efforts of the CFA. Unfortunately I have not had either the money or the time to prepare with water tanks this first year. So my fire plan’s been evacuation. I’ve learnt before all but human and Furbag life is replaceable.

I don’t envy the CFA members putting their best efforts in, and I hope there are only minor injuries while they take on the fires in Mt Clear & Mt Helen. May the Cosmos be with them.

    Day of the Furbag…

    2009 - 12.25

I generally find today and the following few frustrating for the hypocrisy. When it takes a commercialized “holiday” to “bring families together” it seems we as a society are generally lacking. However, I’m hosting the members today, so I’m treating today as the tribal gathering to lay offerings to the ancient hunting deity Furbag. Apparently however, my usual household “decorations” are unfitting, and must be discretely placed out of sight… *sigh*

Anyway such is the way of some things. The Runes indicate that the Favour of Furbag should be high at the moment and the weather appears mild.

    On the Lamb…

    2009 - 12.17

Furbag boycotted curfew last night, and I’m not a happy camper about it. Unfortunately with the current Food War (i.e. the current food strike), sending her to bed without supper is hardly punishment: So stalemated!

A second bite of the “apple”…

    2009 - 12.10

This has to rate as my most extravagant “impulse” buy of all, Furbag is a tad concerned about her food supply now…

    2009 - 10.27

After being awakened brutally by the Furbag at 05:30 and unable to return to sleep I was up bright and early.

Looking forward to picking up the Star Trek Movie today sometime. Hopefully it’s in, and hopefully they don’t run out.

    In it’s Prime …

    2009 - 10.09

It’s been a good week since I got back to BAU ata work, Transition now behind me! It could be quite intersting politically at work soon, but that might get documented in a later post.

So a good week has been had, and to top it off, I managed to pickup Star Trek the Original Series: Season 2 on Blue-Ray. This is undoubtedly my favourite season and Amok Time is probably my all time favourite STOS episode.

Furbag is a touch put out because I’ve moved her food bowl etc to the bathroom rather than the Study. It’s somewhat amusing to watch a cat so usually in control deal with the confusion. There’s no doubt the senility has yet to set in, so all will be well in her world soon again, however I’m sure I’ll pay though soon.
