Someone tweaked my buttons with but a few simple words and imagery last night, and unusually it took hours to subside. I doubt they realise just how good a job they did! I’ve always felt apprehensive finding someone who can do that to me so easily and has that sort of power. Didn’t happen in the old days, with a chemical buffer. Nowadays, I have only my own armour to feel secure with, and this time it shattered without warning! Such deliciousness is always poised on a blade though, where the merest slip can draw precious blood…

Surprising Anniversary…
Today it’s exactly a year since I technically bought (settled on) my house. I even moved some PC’s over that night. It’s been an interesting year. Furbag didn’t move in until the next day, but as far as she’s concerned I’d done my bit!
Yes I paid for…
No worries with the xbox 360 version of Bioshock 2 so far DAMN FINE. They’ve enhanced the good, fixed a few issues, and done a nice job on a sequel.
Interestingly these days I’m rarely interested in buying a PC version of anything, but recent events make it VERY LIKELY I’ll rarely buy one now. Too much intrusive “protection” has pretty much killed me with regard to games for PC’s. There’s no doubt that the PC is the only real format for RTS, but if I can’t depend on a trouble free experience there’s no point. There are still companies out there such as Stardock that believe that a gamer will pay for a product, and they don’t need to charge exorbitant prices nor smother a product within intrusive “copy protection” systems that do nothing but intrude on the legitimate purchaser’s experience. I’ve been happy to support such companies over the years, and it looks like they are going to be my only choices for RTS purchases.
So you PAID for that…?
Well glad I’m not big fan of buying PC games nowadays. I might have bought Mass Effect 2 or Bioshock 2 for the PC, and been really fucking pissed that I paid to be stuffed around: and those who don’t pay have all the fun and no inconvenience! Admittedly I won’t buy these games for PC, although I WILL buy them to play on xbox 360 quite cheerily. I’ll be looking very closely at what might be done to Supreme Commander 2 just prior to release and may actually wait a day or so now, and see what comes up on the internet from the early adopters! Certainly I won’t buy Supreme Commander 2 for the console, but if I’m going to be inconvenienced for legitimately buying a game I would previously genuinely have bought unseen, I think not! Now it’s got to the point for me that I have to wait and see what crap others have to put up with before I go out to buy a PC game. Seems that saves me a fair bit of grief nowadays. And let’s face it, those who know me, know I’ve not been shy of buying games over the years. I even own multiple copies of some like Starcraft, Warcraft and several others, so I think I can legitimately bitch about intrusive “protection schemes”.
Slip betwixt pocket and …
One of those spontaneous purchases but nice new toy.
It’s not the most technical of options, but it’s certainly able to do the job I need.
Bags for Baggins…
Wonderful present received courteousy of Sara (although I believe thanks to Bronwyn too). Couple of Dice and/or Game Token bags. One seen below on Middle Earth Conquest board.
Perfect for my needs and I have 2 of them suitable for several games but one is definitely earmarked for War of the Ring. Furbag has give them a face rub of approval already.
